Global Civic Engagement Program - Spring Break
Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) graduates are inspired to contribute to the local, state, national and international communities, and are prepared to anticipate and respond effectively to an uncertain and changing world.
The GGC Global Civic Engagement Program seeks to enhance the internationalization of the educational experience of the GGC student through global awareness, social impact and creation of cultural competence by instilling a broader world perspective through global participation and civic engagement. This program is designed to critically examine the concept of service learning as it relates to issues of social justice in a global context. The global dimensions of community engagement now take on greater significance in U.S. universities, and their global partnerships. Civic engagement principles have the capacity to shape internationalization. Through hands on learning experiences with local and international communities, relevant course readings, and interactive reflection, program participants will critically examine the societal impact of service around the world.
