Live and study for five weeks in Ireland’s oldest city! See the cultural, artistic, and historical treasures which have made Ireland a destination for generations. Waterford, once a walled settlement of Viking origins, retains much of its medieval character together with graceful cathedrals and townhouses from its 18th century expansion. The program fee includes program trips to Dublin, a three-day stay in Killarney, Co. Kerry in the rugged West of Ireland, and eight day trips across the gorgeous mountains and valleys of southeastern Ireland to take in some of Europe’s most outstanding castles, stately homes, gardens, ecclesiastical sites, and pre-historic monuments.
The Estimated Program Cost of $5,200 Includes:
-Dormitory accommodations with private room & bathroom at Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland
-Partial meal plan including breakfast & lunch on class days (35 meals in total), a 100 Euro grocery card, welcome dinner, and closing reception gala dinner
-Unlimited travel on the Leap bus system in Waterford
-Activities & excursions as listed below under the "Activities & Admin" section
-Health insurance policy providing coverage for any medical expenses that may incur
-An optional group flight: students may purchase their flights through the group airfare arranged through USG Goes Global or arrange their own airfare separately. The cost listed on this page includes an estimate for the program fee + roundtrip airfare.
-Access to WIT's professional & modern fitness center including workout equipment, fitness classes, bicycle rentals, etc.
-Some free days & weekends to explore Ireland or travel to other locations in Europe
The Estimated Program Cost of Does Not Include:
-Tuition, which will be paid directly to each student's home institution. The USG Goes Global tuition rate is $199/credit hour.
-Textbooks or other required course materials
-Ground transport to/from Atlanta airport
-Passport or visa expenses
-Personal spending money for meals that are not included, souvenirs, or personal travel
-A valid passport is required to travel to Europe. US passport holders do not need an additional visa to travel to Europe. If you do not currently hold a valid passport, you may apply for one through the US Department of State. Participants traveling on passports of other countries should contact their institutional representative for assistance in determining whether or not a visa is required for travel to Europe. Passports must be valid for at least six months after the conclusion of international travel.
