GGC Culture, Language and Society in Ecuador


 



About the Program

This program offers students the opportunity to experience and come in contact with the Spanish language, culture, and history that are unique of Quito; interact with local families, students, and other community members; and appreciate Ecuadorian biodiversity.

Location

This program will take place in Quito, Ecuador, and its surrounding areas. Itinerary may include visits to:
  •  Visit to Handcraft market
  • Visit to the Quilotoa Volcano and water filled caldera
  • City Line tour, visit to monument MIDDLE OF THE WORLD
  • Trip to Mindo - tubing, Nature Sanctuary, zip line, and Chocolate Tasting
  • Old Quito city tour and scavenger hunt
  • Trip to Baños - River rafting, biking, hiking, waterfall and spas
  • Cooking class, food tasting, and dance class
  • Gondola ride to Mount Pichincha and hike
  • Visit to botanical garden and vivarium
  • Visit to Guayasamin museum and home (contemporary art and painting)
      AND....
  • Daily meals with host families
  • Movie night
  • Farewell dinner/last supper
  • Interaction with locals, local professors and students, and international students
  • Opportunities for research, independent study projects, and networking

Program cost Spanish Students: $2895
**Please make note all payments are non-refundable upon receipt unless GGC cancels the study abroad program.
GGC tuition and fees are NOT included. Those must be paid before departure and must meet GGC deadlines for tuition and fee payments.
